Plan, Travel, Thrive: How Vacations Improve Your Well-Being

Over the years I have learned about ways that travel enriches my life, and I don’t think I am alone here. Maybe you aren’t traveling a lot currently for a multitude of reasons. Getting away doesn’t have to be fancy, or for a long time. It just needs to be away from your home to benefit! Maybe planning is a stressor (be sure to see my blog post on using a travel agent if that is you).

It’s time to take a few minutes to talk about why travel is good for you. So, let’s get rolling!

I get it, you’re busy. We are all busy. It’s just the way things go these days. It’s so hard to step away from work and the day-to-day responsibilities.

One benefit of travel is that it’s a stress buster! Can you believe it? Escape the day-to-day routine with relaxation and rejuvenation.  There are no work meetings, laundry, kids’ schedules, clean up or any of the other day-to-day things that fill our schedules. Just sit back, enjoy life and all it has to offer.

Lowering stress also lowers cortisol levels so sleep improves, and well that leads to so many other things being better!

Travel opens new worlds as well as self-discovery (likes, dislikes, places you would visit again, and the list goes on and on). New points of view and ways to handle things are presented.

Every new experience, food, and place visited opens eyes to more things. I know my patience for situations and willingness to try new things has increased with travel.

I love that I can say I have become a well-rounded human because of travel. You can say these things too.

Boost satisfaction and have something to look forward to with planning and then traveling.

The brain re-wires itself with these positive thoughts and experiences, increasing happiness all around. Who doesn’t love a more positive outlook on life? I know I love this benefit, because being happier minimizes negative thoughts and boosts resilience in life too.

Get something on the calendar to look forward to and then travel and see how the outlook changes! Especially when travel is a regular thing.

I’ve alluded to it, but resilience, flexibility, and patience are huge perks for travel.

Using new experiences, places, foods, people and so much more opens doors to be able to handle day-to-day life easier. Outlook on scenarios is better, as well as ideas for situations that arise. These attributes make you a better human with every experience!

So get those comfy pants on and let’s get ready for anything life throws at us.

Along the lines of flexibility is creativity.

Having more information to work through problems gives more opportunities for solutions. Not having the stresses and duties of being at home opens a whole new world in your mind. Creativity, problem solving, resilience, patience, willingness to try new things are all a byproduct of reducing stress, being happier, and travel. Be ready to have new experiences, and ways of seeing things. The mind is opened when less stuff is swirling around.

Enjoy positivity and let the brain be rewired so life doesn’t come so hard at you while at home in the busyness of life.

Don’t even get me started on the beauty of nature when new places are visited.

Whether it’s enjoying the seas, trees, architecture, mountains, rolling hills or something else, being able to experience the views and nature in person just doesn’t compare to other experiences.  Plus, when you’re outdoors in nature it’s grounding and good for the soul, so maybe try walking around barefoot.

Nature and new places can offer a fresh perspective so you can come back to “normal” life with fresh and creative ideas and solutions.

Ready to start making plans to travel? I am here to help with that!

I take planning off your plate so the normal daily life can have your attention. Then you can have positive thoughts on your trip and are able to enjoy more aspects of all your travel when we partner, and I plan for you.

There is no scouring the web for just the right thing. You’re already busy enough, and you don’t want to add something else to your plate! Let’s partner together to get you traveling so you can be more productive, happier, healthier, and ready to take on all that life throws at you.

Happy travels!
