What’s in a Disney Value Resort?
Let’s first begin with a clarification. There is the overall Walt Disney World Resort, which includes the 47 square miles of parks, resorts, golf courses, Disney Springs and all the nature in between. Then there are the over 30 different individual Disney Resorts that we call home when we visit the Mouse.
The Disney Resorts fall into four categories:
The main offerings that separates them from each other are:
Disney’s Value Resorts are fun and lively and have big personalities! These resorts will be the most budget friendly, while still offering all the same important perks of being on property. There is a lot to love about the Value Resorts category, so let’s go!
LOCATION
While no Disney Resort is generally more than a 20 minute bus ride away from a theme park, these resorts are those exact distances. Combine that with the fact that the bus will stop at all three All Star Resorts before making that trek to the Magic Kingdom, that is when you understand why the Value Resorts are where they are. We feel like that distance is a small concession for the price.
AMENITIES
Room sizes here run the smallest, but as my mother in law says, “I only go to my room to sleep and shower!”
DINING OPTIONS
Here you will find a food court at each Value Resort. Need a way to accommodate all kinds of tastes in one place? Easy peasy! Simple and fast, gets you out the door to the parks or back to your room for bed.
POOLS
While all the pools at Walt Disney World are very themed and fun, the pools at the Value Resorts may have some of the biggest personalities. From a giant piano pool to a giant baseball diamond pool to Walt Disney World’s largest pool of them all, The Big Blue at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. The Big Blue has a zero depth entry for the littles and underwater speakers that play all your favorite Disney tunes. The Value Resorts do not have slides at the pools, but there are kiddie pools and fun splash zones to enjoy.
TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
Taking the bus will be your transportation to and from all the parks. If you’re staying at Pop Century or Art of Animation, you will also have Disney Skyliner as an option for accessing Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot.
If your priority is saving money, the Value Resorts may be your best choice. If your priority is time in the parks vs. hanging out at your resort or in your room, then the Value Resorts may also be your best choice. If you want to be able to visit WDW every year or as often as you can, then the Value Resorts may help you accomplish those dreams faster!
