Hey there, fellow adventurers! New year, new travels! I’m beyond excited because I’m officially in countdown mode—only 3 weeks left until my very first Royal Caribbean cruise! And guess what? It’s not just any cruise; it’s aboard Royal Caribbean’s magnificent Allure of the Seas with a portion of our incredible team of travel agents for our annual retreat! 🌟

Can you imagine? Fourteen of us, ready to explore our ship filled with ocean breezes, endless fun, and unforgettable memories. This four night retreat is about to take ‘team bonding’ to a whole new level—exploring, learning, and having the time of our lives together.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the Allure of the Seas. This ship is nothing short of a floating paradise. It’s an oasis on the water, offering everything from jaw-dropping entertainment to delectable dining options and more activities at sea than you could imagine.

The Allure of the Seas belongs to Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class—a groundbreaking series of cruise ships known for their innovative design, size, and onboard experiences. The Oasis Class ships are the largest in the world (so far… their newest ship and class sets sail this month!) and set the bar high for modern cruise vacations. Here’s what being part of the Oasis Class entails:

1. Unprecedented Size and Amenities: The Oasis Class ships, including the Allure of the Seas, are quite large, measuring over 1,180 feet in length and spanning 16 decks. The size allows these ships the ability to offer an incredible array of amenities and activities, redefining the cruise experience.

2. Neighborhood Concept: One of the defining features of the Oasis Class is the “neighborhood” concept, where the ship is divided into distinct themed areas or neighborhoods. This includes Central Park, Boardwalk, Royal Promenade, Pool and Sports Zone, and more. Each neighborhood offers a unique ambiance and activities. In a unique ship design, some cabins offer exclusive views of the neighborhoods, like these overlooking Central Park. 

3. Central Park at Sea: An iconic feature of the Oasis Class ships is the Central Park area, a lush open-air garden in the middle of the ship with real trees, plants, and winding pathways. This area offers serene spaces to relax, dine at specialty restaurants, and enjoy live entertainment.

4. Entertainment and Activities: These ships are packed with entertainment options. From Broadway-style shows, aqua theater performances, and ice skating to zip lines, surfing simulators, and multiple pools, there’s something for everyone onboard.

5. Accommodations: The Oasis Class offers a variety of accommodations, including interior staterooms with virtual balconies, luxurious suites with expansive views, and unique multi-level loft suites. My mom and I have a Balcony Cabin and we will share more about that when we get there.

6. Dining Variety: Guests can enjoy an extensive range of dining options, from casual eateries to specialty restaurants offering diverse cuisines. The variety is huge, catering to different tastes and preferences. We are super excited about sharing dinner with our whole team, too!

7. Technology and Innovation: These ships incorporate cutting-edge technology, including high-speed internet, interactive screens, and RFID wristbands for easy access and payments while onboard.

This ship has something for everyone. And did I mention the views? Oh, those stunning ocean vistas that will accompany us as we sail to both of our destinations! We’ve got two exciting ports of call lined up: Nassau, Bahamas, and CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s very own private island.

Nassau, Bahamas: Get ready for some Caribbean charm! Nassau is a bustling paradise offering crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkeling, vibrant markets for shopping, and historical landmarks like the Queen’s Staircase and the historic forts. Let’s not forget the iconic swimming with the pigs! Whether it’s basking on the stunning beaches or exploring the culture and history, Nassau has a little something for every type of traveler.

CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s Private Island: Picture a slice of heaven—powdery white sands, crystal-clear waters, and endless adventures. CocoCay is a private oasis exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests. From water slides and floating cabanas to beachside barbecues and serene adult-only hideaways, it’s a paradise where relaxation and adventure meet. Snorkel in the turquoise waters, enjoy a thrilling ride at the water park, or, what we plan to do, relax on the beach and soak up the sun. Yep, that’s where we will be.
